Artist Reception
September 27th 5pm-8pm
“I am interested in revealing my inner dialogue in the context of a formal visual context. Some of this includes my own awkwardness toward male identity, my hidden interests in bdsm as well as various political opinions. Using a variety of
materials, I combine personal anecdotes,
desires and opinions within an intuitively applied medium of my own choosing. It is my intention to connect to my audience in a way that allows them to reveal the "stranger" aspects of themselves. My work strikes a balance between attraction and repulsion, vulnerability and self-preservation.”

About The Gallery
The Gallery at The Rusty Matcutter is a venue for contemporary art for the Upstate New York arts community. Our goal is to highlight work from local artists that is thought-provoking, distinct, and original, and provide an atmosphere that stimulates creativity and promotes dialog. The gallery hosts openings once a month on Final Fridays- a self-guided art tour at The Shirt Factory Artists Co-Op in Glens Falls, and is open regular hours Tuesday through Saturday. As a co-sponsor with UpstArt, the gallery hosts open critiques every other Saturday, themed art parties bi-monthly, and other events, both at the gallery and off site. The Gallery at The Rusty Matcutter provides an extensive artist directory for clients to find work best suited to their interests and art services for artists that include excellent pricing for framing, mounting, and graphic design. The Gallery at The Rusty Matcutter is now accepting slides and digital files of work for the summer and fall 2009. This is a high-energy, innovative setting with strong support for contemporary art in our region, please contact us for info about our mailing list, events, or showing at therustymatcutter@gmail.com, or (518)932-2477.
